TUESDAY'S QUICK HITS

Providence Day 62, Morgan County (GA) 55: Providence Day ran out to a lead of 41-18 before Morgan County's Tookie Brown took over. Brown scored all 24 points in the second half, making 4-of-7 3-point attempts. He rallied his team to within six in the final 90 seconds before the Chargers put the game away. Josh Howard (21 points, four assists) and Grant Williams (18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks) led the Chargers, who finished third in the tournament.

Victory Christian 49, Lake Norman 33: Victory Christian point guard Deshawn Patterson, who sat out Monday's buzzer-beating loss to Ardrey Kell, returned Tuesday and played all 32 minutes. He had seven points and three assists. Victory Christian outrebounded Lake Norman 30-22 and limited Lake Norman to 33 percent shooting. Hunter Seacat had 20 points and six rebounds but no other Lake Norman player had more than four. Victory got 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals from guard Ty Gadsden.

John Carroll (MD) 41, St. James (MD) 39: John Carroll got two free throws from point guard Elijah Long with less than 10 seconds to play and St. James missed a tough layin at the buzzer in the national final. Tournament MVP Kimibal Mackenzie had 15 points to lead John Caroll. He was 5-of-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 at the line. St. James star Justin Robinson, a Virginia Tech recruit, had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Ardrey Kell 75, Concord 48:  The Knights jumped on Concord early, taking a 19-7 lead and didn't let up, shooting nearly 55 percent and limiting the Spiders to 37 percent. Rhyle Scott, named tournament MVP, had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Steven Santa Ana had 12 points and three rebounds and Josh Freund had 11 points and five rebounds for the Knights. Concord was led by 12 points and four assists from junior Ray Kowalski.

Northside Christian girls 75, Davidson Day 54: With Wake Forest coaches in attendance, Northside 6-4 sophomore Eleah Parker had a monster game with 20 points, 21 rebounds and two blocks. Davidson Day got 18 points, five rebounds and three assists from Maya Caldwell.

Northside Christian 65, Luella (GA) 49: After losing its first two games at the Hoodies House Classic, Northside got a dominant performance from its team in the 7th/8th place game. The Knights held Luella to 16 points in the second and third quarters and limited Luella to 37 percent field goal shooting for the game, while outrebounding Luella 37-29. Rayjon Tucker led the Knights with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Lysander Bracey added 15 points and four rebounds. Luella got 20 points and three rebounds from Andre Banton.

Ardrey Kell 55, Norcross (GA) 48: The Knights outscored Norcross 20-7 in the fourth quarter to get a third straight win at the Hoodies House Classic and win the national girls four-team round robin event. Tournament MVP Jordan Muhammad led the Knights with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Chase Muhammad added 11 points and eight rebounds. Vash Perry had 16 points, five rebounds for Norcoss.

Dillard (Fla.) 70, White Station (Tenn) 66: After losing to Providence Day to start the tournament, Dillard won its final two games to finish fifth. Dillard limited White Station to 32.8 percent shooting with its superior size and post men Keion Farrington and Cedric Wright combined for 31 points and 18 rebounds, making 13 of 23 shots. Mike Green added 17 points and three assists for Dillard. White Station got 31 points from Nych Smith.

MONDAY'S QUICK HITS

ARDREY KELL GIRLS 60, NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 44 -- Ardrey Kell led by 1 after the first quarter but busted the game by outscoring Northside 25-8 in the second and third quarters. Ardrey Kell held Northside to 30 percent shooting. Northside's Eleah Parker had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Ardrey Kell got 16 points, six rebounds from Jordan Muhammad, 13 points and seven rebounds from Chase Muhammad and 10 points from Darah Dewalt.

CONCORD 59, LAKE NORMAN 55 -- Northside Christian transfer Ray Kowalski had 28 points to lead Concord over a Lake Norman that was wearign Kowalski's old uniform. Lake Norman was scheduled to be the home team but wore its road blacks. Northside Christian coaches lent Lake Norman its home white jerseys. Concord's pressure defense broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter. Hunter Seacat, a 6-9 center, led Lake Norman with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lake Norman was playing without all-state forward Kishawn Pritchett (knee), who has signed with Davidson. Pritchett said he hopes to return in January.

ST JAMES (MD) 57, PROVIDENCE DAY 50 -- St. James point guard Justin Robinson, a Virginia Tech recruit, had 23 points and nine assists as St. James withstood a late push from the Chargers to advance to the national championship game. Providence Day trimmed the lead to two late in the fourh quarter but St. James made its free throws and broke the Chargers press for a few easy breakaway scores at the end. Providence Day got 16 points and five rebounds from Josh Howard.

DILLARD (FLA) 74, NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 66 -- Dillard got 41 points and 16 rebounds from its inside post stars, Keion Farrington and Cedric Wright, and handed Northside its second straight loss at the tournament. Northside star Rayjon Tucker, a Florida Gulf Coast recruit, had 26 points, five rebounds and three steals. But Northside shot 42 percent and made 6-of-20 3-point attempts. Dillard shot 60.5 percent, constantly dumping the ball inside to Farmington and Wright.

NORCROSS (GA) GIRLS 39, DAVIDSON DAY 30 -- In a game where both teams shot less than 25 percent, Norcross survived. Davidson Day made a late run, outscoring Norcross 14-8 in the fourth quarter, paced by 17 points and nine rebounds from Maya Caldwell and six points and 12 rebounds from Parker Thompkins. Nor cross was led by 11 points and eight rebounds from Tylia Gillespie.

WHITE STATION (TENN) 70, LUELLA (GA) 56 -- White Station advanced to Tuesday's fifth-place game with the win, which was paced by 37 points, six rebounds and four assists from Nych Smith. Smith was 1-for-7 on 3-point attempts but made 17-of-24 of his two-point attempts. Dillion Mitchell added 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Luella got 19 points, four rebounds and four assists from Andre Banton. Luella shot 50 percent from the field.

SATURDAY'S QUICK HITS

VICTORY CHRISTIAN 72, CONCORD 59 -- Victory Christian (13-4) got a huge game from senior Charlotte 49ers recruit Ebuka Izundu and won a game the Kings controlled throughout. Izundu finished with 28 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks. He made 11-of-12 field goals. Concord got 14 points from Keenan Black and 11 from Ray Kowalski.

PROVIDENCE DAY 64, DILLARD (FLA) 60 -- The Chargers (10-3) withstood a big fourth quarter rally from Dillard, which trailed by double digits much of the game. Led by 22 pionts and 10 rebounds from Cedric Wright, Dillard outscored Providence Day 17-10 in the fourth quarter but the Chargers got a pair of free throws from senior point guard Chaz Raye (18 points) to put the game away with 10 seconds left.

ARDREY KELL 53, LAKE NORMAN 39 -- The Knights busted open the game by outscoring Lake Norman 31-11 in the second and third quarters. Ardrey Kell, which only shot 37 percent for the game, caused Lake Norman problems with its active defense, led by guards Collin Cooper, Seth Davis and Devin Cooper. No Knight scored in double figures. Lake Norman got 13 points and six rebounds from David Scott and 12 points and seven rebounds from Hunter Seacat. The Wildcats played without all-state senior forward Kishawn Pritchett (knee), who is a Davidson recruit.


ARDREY KELL GIRLS 49, DAVIDSON DAY 24 -- Despite shooting only 33 percent for the game, Ardrey Kell overwhelmed Davidson Day Saturday on its home court. Davidson Day was outscored 13-0 in the second quarter as Ardrey Kell grabbed a 25-8 halftime lead. For the game, Davidson Day shot 9-for-49. Davidson Day got 14 points and three steals from Courtney Meadows. Ardrey Kell's Deja McCain had 13 points and four rebounds.

NORCROSS (GA) GIRLS 61, NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 36 -- Norcross got 21 points, six rebounds from Tylia Gillespie, 15 points from Vash Perry and 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists from Taylor Mason in the rout. Northside was led by 15 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks from Eleah Parker.

MORGAN CO (GA) 72, WHITE STATION (TENN) 62 -- Morgan County shot 60 percent for the game, held White Station to 36 percent shooting and outrebounded White Station 38-30. Tookie Brown, made 10-of-12 field goals and finished with 26 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Morgan County. White Station got 23 points and eight rebounds from Dillion Mitchell and 18 pionts from Nych Smith.

JOHN CARROLL (MD) 60, LUELLA (GA) 33 -- Nationally ranked Carroll (12-1) got 14 points from Malik Tyne and 10 each from Mike Tertsea and Immanuel Quickley in an easy win. Carroll shot 61 percent from the field. Luella made 12-of-42 shots and was 3-of-18 from 3-point range.
