TUESDAY'S QUICK HITS

Providence Day 62, Morgan County (GA) 55: Providence Day ran out to a lead of 41-18 before Morgan County's Tookie Brown took over. Brown scored all 24 points in the second half, making 4-of-7 3-point attempts. He rallied his team to within six in the final 90 seconds before the Chargers put the game away. Josh Howard (21 points, four assists) and Grant Williams (18 points, seven rebounds, two blocks) led the Chargers, who finished third in the tournament.

Victory Christian 49, Lake Norman 33: Victory Christian point guard Deshawn Patterson, who sat out Monday's buzzer-beating loss to Ardrey Kell, returned Tuesday and played all 32 minutes. He had seven points and three assists. Victory Christian outrebounded Lake Norman 30-22 and limited Lake Norman to 33 percent shooting. Hunter Seacat had 20 points and six rebounds but no other Lake Norman player had more than four. Victory got 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals from guard Ty Gadsden.

John Carroll (MD) 41, St. James (MD) 39: John Carroll got two free throws from point guard Elijah Long with less than 10 seconds to play and St. James missed a tough layin at the buzzer in the national final. Tournament MVP Kimibal Mackenzie had 15 points to lead John Caroll. He was 5-of-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 at the line. St. James star Justin Robinson, a Virginia Tech recruit, had 12 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Ardrey Kell 75, Concord 48:  The Knights jumped on Concord early, taking a 19-7 lead and didn't let up, shooting nearly 55 percent and limiting the Spiders to 37 percent. Rhyle Scott, named tournament MVP, had 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. Steven Santa Ana had 12 points and three rebounds and Josh Freund had 11 points and five rebounds for the Knights. Concord was led by 12 points and four assists from junior Ray Kowalski.

Northside Christian girls 75, Davidson Day 54: With Wake Forest coaches in attendance, Northside 6-4 sophomore Eleah Parker had a monster game with 20 points, 21 rebounds and two blocks. Davidson Day got 18 points, five rebounds and three assists from Maya Caldwell.

Northside Christian 65, Luella (GA) 49: After losing its first two games at the Hoodies House Classic, Northside got a dominant performance from its team in the 7th/8th place game. The Knights held Luella to 16 points in the second and third quarters and limited Luella to 37 percent field goal shooting for the game, while outrebounding Luella 37-29. Rayjon Tucker led the Knights with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Lysander Bracey added 15 points and four rebounds. Luella got 20 points and three rebounds from Andre Banton.

Ardrey Kell 55, Norcross (GA) 48: The Knights outscored Norcross 20-7 in the fourth quarter to get a third straight win at the Hoodies House Classic and win the national girls four-team round robin event. Tournament MVP Jordan Muhammad led the Knights with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Chase Muhammad added 11 points and eight rebounds. Vash Perry had 16 points, five rebounds for Norcoss.

Dillard (Fla.) 70, White Station (Tenn) 66: After losing to Providence Day to start the tournament, Dillard won its final two games to finish fifth. Dillard limited White Station to 32.8 percent shooting with its superior size and post men Keion Farrington and Cedric Wright combined for 31 points and 18 rebounds, making 13 of 23 shots. Mike Green added 17 points and three assists for Dillard. White Station got 31 points from Nych Smith.
