Friday's Independence at Butler game is sold out

Butler High athletics director Courtney Paschal said that Friday's Independence at Butler high school football game is sold out.

No tickets will be sold at the gate and no one will allowed on campus without a ticket.

Independence (10-0) is No. 1 in the Observer's Sweet 16. Butler (9-1) is tied for No. 2 with Mallard Creek (9-1).

The winner of Friday's Independence at Butler game wins the Southwestern 4A conference championship.

Butler's stadium only seats 2,500 and with high interest in the game, school officials at Butler decided to pre-sell tickets at both schools. In the past games between these two have been moved to Memorial Stadium, which seats 18,000, or 6,000-seat Providence High.

Neither venue is available, so the game is being held on campus.
