Providence Day volleyball Ciera Cockrell commits to Davidson


Providence Day senior volleyball player Ciera Cockrell verbally committed to Division I Davidson College Wednesday. 

“Out of the colleges that I was looking at for volleyball," she said, "Davidson definitely felt like the

best fit for me. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to be a

Wildcat next fall."

The senior captain and outside hitter also plays club volleyball in the Carolina Region, most recently competing for CUVC (Carolina Union Volleyball Club).

Cockrell was honored as a 2013 CISAA all-conference player. This season, she is currently leading her team with a .321 hitting percentage with 210 Kills, 24 aces, and 129 digs on the season.

The Chargers are currently 17-2 overall and undefeated in conference play.
