Brodowicz named Charlotte Catholic's head football coach

Michael Brodowicz will be the new head football coach at Charlotte Catholic next year, according to a release from the school Friday.

Brodowicz has been with Charlotte Catholic since 2002 and has been a member of a staff that won two state championships (2004 and 2005) and finished as state runner-up three times, most recently the 2012 3AA state title game.

Brodowicz, a defensive assistant coach, will replace longtime coach Jim Oddo, who announced his retirement in February after more than 40 years with the Cougars.

Before coming to Charlotte Catholic, Brodowicz was the defensive coordinator and head junior varsity coach at Providence Day.

He has also been an assistant coach at Elon University and at Eastern Alamance High.

Are they going to continue to run the 1950s wing t?

Congrats coach, big name candidates never considered slam dunk from day one

1950s Wing T made a lot of the younger
cocky coaches eat some humble pie over the years. They will still run the ball. I think we will see the ball thrown a lot more.
Big name candidates would not have fit in with the Cougar tradition.

Coach Brodo is a great man coach . He inspires kids to be there best both on and off the field. Now we need to replace mr belk at baseball with someone that the kids admire and respect. ( The program is poorly run and the turnout to play varsity baseball is at its lowest level.) This year they have been out scored 40-0 by ardrey keil , s mech and providence.

To the person who made the comment on Baseball.... the CC talent level compared to the schools you named
is not even close.almost every player at those schools would make the team at CC ahead of the players at CC.

The bottom line if your a good baseball player why would you ever want to play for a coach who dosnt know the swing and has no assistant coaches because the head coach thinks he knows baseball….Outscored 40- o by providence/ ardrey keil/ s mech……Dosnt know baseball very bad coach…………..

Charlotte Catholic Baseball was 1- 8 against teams that were better than 500% for the year.....they went 11-2 against teams with losing records. ( if you look over the past 10 years they lose against winning teams and beat poor teams) If the ardrey keil providence s mech christian coach ran our program it would be very sucessful. Catholic is aGreat sports school football soccer, swiming ,lacrose of all win big and often. NEED A Changeand bring in a coach who kids respect.
