Matthew Jenkins named head football coach at Hopewell

Matthew Jenkins, a 21-year vet, is Hopewell High School's new head football coach 

Coach Jenkins  will enter his 21st year of coaching and his third head coaching position.  Most recently he served as the defensive coordinator at Concord HS, where they were state runner-up this past season.  Prior to his three years at Concord he served one year as defensive coordinator at Myers Park HS. 

Jenkins came to North Carolina from Las Vegas, NV where he served as a head coach at two schools.  At Canyon Springs HS his teams won 24 games in three years making the playoffs each year, while setting a school record for wins in a year and winning the school’s first two playoff games.

Previous to his head coaching stints in Las Vegas he spent 6 years coaching high school football in Southern California and at the college level at both Penn St. and Cornell Universities.

He doesnt know how to coach and he doesnt use his players wisely.he needs to leave hopewell.
