Fomer Hopewell football coach David Johnson named at Waxhaw's Cuthbertson High

Cuthbertson High tabbed former Hopewell High football coach David Johnson to lead its program Wednesday.

Johnson was 9-14 in two years at Hopewell. Before coming to Hopewell, he was offensive coordinator for two years at Berry. Johnson, 29, replaces Mike Roark, who resigned last winter.
Johnson will try to produce a winning season at Cuthbertson, which has not had a winning season in its four-year history. Overall, Cuthbertson is 16-31.

Hopewell named former Concord assistant Matthew Jenkins its head coach earlier this week.
