Garinger freshman Raekwon Long one of several Carolinians on MaxPreps freshman All-American team

Garinger 7-foot freshman Raekwon Long made the MaxPreps All-American team for freshman.

The team is chock full of Carolinas' players including national freshman of the year Harry Giles of High Point Wesleyan Christian. Giles, a 6-foot-8 forward, was offered by North Carolina this week.

Giles, who averaged 12.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, made the first team, along with Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School guard Seventh Woods, who averaged 19.3 points, 4.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds. Woods is 6-1.

Edrice "Bam" Adebayo, a 6-8 forward from Northside High in Pinetown, N.C., made third team. Adebayo averaged 17.8 points, 19.8 rebounds and 4.3 blocks.

Long, who led Garinger to the playoffs with a surprising run through the second half of the season, made honorable mention. He averaged 15 points, 13 rebounds and eight blocks.

Hough High's Luke Maye was the only sophomore from the Carolinas to make MaxPreps sophomore All-America team.
