Butler's Kalambayi, Vance's Bryant to get US Army All American jerseys

Two Mecklenburg County linebackers have been added to the U.S. Army All-American game.

Vance's Larenz Bryant and Butler's Peter Kalambayi will play in the game Jan. 5 in San Antonio. It will be televised live by NBC. The game brings together some of the nation's best high school football players.

Bryant will be honored Thursday, Nov. 8 and Kalambayi on Friday Nov. 9 at ceremonies at each player's school in front of his teammates and classmates. Both will begin at 1:30 p.m. At the ceremony, the players will receive their game jerseys.

There are five U.S. Army All-American bowl selection tour teams traveling across the country from September to mid December to honor all 90 players and marching band members. In all, the tour teams will log about 30,000 combined miles.

Bryant has committed to play college football at South Carolina; Kalambayi at Stanford
