Garinger hires Kenneth Breland as interim athletics director

Kenneth Breland is Garinger's interim athletics director. He replaces Claire Gardin.

Gardin began the year as one of four female athletics directors in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, joining Cheryl Feeney (Ardrey Kell), Courtney Paschal (Butler) and Mallard Creek (Karen McKaig). CMS also a female central office athletics director, Sue Doran.

Gardin had been the school's athletics director since 2003.
