Grace Academy girls player sets Meck County single game scoring record

Tuesday night, against Kennedy Charter, Grace Academy's Greta Tamasauskaite had a girls high school game to remember.

She scored what's believed to be a Mecklenburg County record 57 points in an 83-57 win over Kennedy Charter. Her record-setting performance overshadowed a brilliant game from Kennedy Charter's Rajsha Blackmon.

Blackmon, the area's leading scorer (31.8 points per game) and No. 6 rebounder (11.8), had 37 points, eight rebounds, three rebounds and two assists.

Grace Academy took a 22-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, and Tamasauskaite set an unofficial record.

According to Charlotte Observer records, Providence Day's Konecka Drakeford held the record since 1991, when she scored 51 points in a win over rival Charlotte Christian. The N.C. record, according to N.C. High School Athletic Association records, is 61 by Shea Ralph of Fayetteville Sanford in 1995.

Tamasauskaite's performance ranks fourth in state history.

Below are reported girls state and county boys and girls records:

This Romanesque castle is situated in the middle of the town, giving it a romantic look.

Wireless network bridges connect a wired network to a wireless network. A bridge differs from an access point: an access point connects wireless devices to a wired network at the data-link layer. Two wireless bridges may be used to connect two wired networks over a wireless link, useful in situations where a wired connection may be unavailable, such as between two separate homes.

The African American trend of voting for Democrats can be traced back to the 1930s during the Great Depression, when Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal program provided economic relief to African Americans; Roosevelt's New Deal coalition turned the Democratic Party into an organization of the working class and their liberal allies, regardless of region. The African American vote became even more solidly Democratic when Democratic presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson pushed for civil rights legislation during the 1960s.

Once elected to the National Assembly, colons became permanent fixtures. Because of their seniority, they exercised disproportionate influence, and their support was important to any government's survival[citation needed] . The leader of the colon delegation, Auguste Warnier (1810–1875), succeeded during the 1870s in modifying or introducing legislation to facilitate the private transfer of land to settlers and continue the Algerian state's appropriation of land from the local population and distribution to settlers. Consistent proponents of reform, like Georges Clemenceau and socialist Jean Jaurès, were rare in the National Assembly.

The Living Latin movement attempts to teach Latin in the same way that living languages are taught, i.e., as a means of both spoken and written communication. It is available at the Vatican, and at some institutions in the U.S., such as the University of Kentucky and Iowa State University. The British Cambridge University Press is a major supplier of Latin textbooks for all levels, such as

The term Medieval Latin refers to the written Latin in use during that portion of the post-classical period when no corresponding Latin vernacular existed. The spoken language had developed into the various incipient Romance Languages; however, in the educated and official world Latin continued without its natural spoken base. Moreover, this Latin spread into lands that had never spoken Latin, such as the Germanic and Slavic nations.

In 1845, Urbain Le Verrier began his own independent research into Uranus's orbit. On September 23, 1846, Johann Gottfried Galle located a new planet, later named Neptune, at nearly the position predicted by Le Verrier.

The Earth's terrain varies greatly from place to place. About 70.8%[99] of the surface is covered by water, with much of the continental shelf below sea level. The submerged surface has mountainous features, including a globe-spanning mid-ocean ridge system, as well as undersea volcanoes,[69] oceanic trenches, submarine canyons, oceanic plateaus and abyssal plains. The remaining 29.2% not covered by water consists of mountains, deserts, plains, plateaus, and other geomorphologies.
