High School Football Players of the Week

Troy Leeper, South Point: Rushed for career-high 285 yards and three scores in a 45-9 win over Kings Mountain. This month, “Mr. September” has rushed for 662 yards and 12 scores in three games. Friday he had four runs of 40 or more yards.
Takhare Donalson, Mallard Creek: Two interceptions in the second half of Friday’s 45-3 win over No. 16 Mooresville. The Mavericks forced seven turnovers in the second half. Donalson has three interceptions this season.
Reggie Davis, Bunker Hill: 234 yards rushing and four scores in 27-14 win over East Burke.
Matt Johnson, Maiden: Quarterback ran 20 times for 338 yards and six touchdowns and threw for another score in a wild 62-39 win over Newton-Conover.
Marcus Kincaid, Freedom: Caught 11 passes for 149 yards and had two interceptions in 35-21 win over rival Shelby.
Brandon Littlejohn, Burns: Threw for 163 yards in 38-6 win over Q Foundation and now has more than 6,000 for his career. He is the 27th N.C player to hit 6,000.
Evan Guest, Independence: Threw for 267 yards and five touchdowns in 49-0 win over East Mecklenburg. Also ran for two touchdowns.
Riley Ferguson, Butler: Threw for 256 yards and five touchdowns in first half of 77-14 win over Myers Park. Ferguson also caught an 8-yard scoring pass from halfback Josh Glisson.
Bryon Fields, Providence Day: 5-11, 170-pound junior had eight tackles, a blocked field goal attempt, a pass interception and a 76-yard punt return for a score in 10-7 loss to No. 4 Porter Ridge.
