Mallard Creek OL DJ Humphries to announce commitment Friday

Mallard Creek offensive lineman D.J. Humphries, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound rising senior, will pick a college Friday.

Mallard Creek coach Mike Palmieri said Humphries would announce his commitment during a 7 p.m. ceremony at school Friday. Humphries is the top recruit in North Carolina, ranked No. 3 overall nationally by rivals.com and No. 7 by ESPN.

Palmieiri said Humphries will choose from these finalists: Clemson, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee. Humphries, a B student, will graduate from Mallard Creek in December and enroll in his new school in January.

"He just wants to get the process over," Palmieri said. "He doesn't want to do it during the season and wants to focus on what we do."

Over the years I have noticed that the regional power house would get the bests recruits from several states. Georgia with Hershal had the best players from Ga., SC, & Florida. Clemson's National Championship was won with the best from SC, GA, & NC. Tennesse won it with the best from TN, SC& GA.

And Now the Gamecocks are eating steak and everyone else is eating left overs. This destroyed UNC and Davis. NCSU is the only team that has a chance.

If it werent for Lattimore, SC would still be duking it out with Vandy. Watch what happen when he turns pro.

Humphries is a native south carolinian...so it would be more natural for him to go to Carolina...plus Carolina is closer to Charlotte and his family than any school in NC PLUS...Carolina is the only school in the Carolinas in the SEC....GO COCKS

Humphries is a native South Carolinian....so he should naturally want to play for Carolina...Carolina is also the only school in the Carolinas in the SEC and the closest to Charlotte....Charlotte really is an SEC town...just look at Carolina, UF, UT, UGA & Auburn...they get the few Gems from Charlotte....
