Olympic's Reggie Arcenaux, MEGA player of year, commits to Wright State

Olympic High boys basketball star Reggie Arceneaux, the MEGA 7 conference player of the year, has committed to Wright State in Ohio.

Arceneaux, a 5-foot-8 point guard, helped the Trojans to a N.C. 4A Western regional berth and a conference championship in a season when Olympic ascended to No. 1 in the Observer’s Sweet 16 for the first time.

Arceneaux was second on the team with 14.1 points. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds, two steals and 6.8 assists, second most in the Observer’s 127-school coverage area in North and South Carolina.

Reggie Arcenaux is top quality kid. He is very polite and humble. He deserves to play at a great school like Wright State. They are getting a very prepared young man that will elevate those around him, show great sportsmanship, achieve academically and thrive in the collegiate ranks. I think Charlotte and Winthrop should be ashamed that they did not recruit this kid. He may be undersized, but his heart is bigger than any kid I have seen play. I wish him well and congratulations to Coach BG on another quality kid.

Nice kid but...has poor grades...scared off many recruiters! Not sure how he got into Wright State.
