High School Spring Sports Roundup

Metrolina Christian wins MAC titleMetrolina Christian (18-4) won the first MAC regular-season title in school history last week. Thursday, it won its first tournament title, beating Hickory Grove 2-1 in the championship. Winning pitcher Mallory Broome threw a one-hitter and struck out 12. She's 12-2 for the season.

Lincoln Charter wins PAC title
Lincoln Charter beat Lake Norman Charter 9-7 to win the PAC conference tournament Thursday. Lincoln's Charter's Taylor Wilson was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double. Victoria Morgan also had a double and was 2-4. Sarah Kenley was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. She had a double and a triple. Jennifer Allison had three RBIs and a home run.

Lincoln Charter is 11-10 overall.

Southlake Christian wins MAC championship

Southlake Christian beat Covenant Day 5-3 to win the MAC tournament championship Thursday. Southlake also won the regular-season championship.

Southlake improved to 23-4-1 on the season Covenant Day is 19-9.

Queens Grant charter stops Lincoln Charter, reaches PAC final
Queens Grant's baseball team reached the PAC tournament championship with a 5-3 win over Lincoln Charter Thursday. Joey Glass had an RBI for Lincoln Charter in the loss.

Queens Grant will face Lake Norman Charter in today's final. Lake Norman Charter beat Grace Academy behind a one-hitter from Zech Wiggs. Lake Norman Charter is 13-6.

Berry rolled up 208.5 points to easily win the Rocky River conference meet, well ahead of Waxhaw Cuthbertson (110.5) which finished second. Monroe won the girls meet.

Berry athletes finished first, second and third in the boys' 100, 200, and 800 meter dashes. Berry won all four relays (4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800) and the long jump, triple jump, discuss and shot put.

In 400 meters, Berry athletes finished second, fourth and fifth.
