This is no fault of Mr. Clowney's but it is sad when ESPN will be doing a live broadcast. I believe that is overkill. He is an 18 year old kid, sign your LOI and get ready for fall practice. Maybe he can do an hour special like Lebron did? I know ESPNU is local and all, but all the media hype about recruiting is insane.

He had better be a lean to the SEC unless he enjoys waking up at 7am on Saturday mornings for a 12 noon start time on Raycomb. It's pretty clear that NC is in a "take no prisoners" mode after filing complaints this week regarding Clemson's illegal recruiting in this year's signing class. Looks like the closest school to Charlotte eligible for an ACCCG will be Duke.

Wake is the closest ACC school to Charlotte.

If he wants a national title, he'd better not sign with USCe. He needs to sign his LOI with LSU. Not that it's likely to happen.

I wonder if scarolina's freshly minted Letter of Investigation from the NCAA will play a role in the decision. Rumors are swirling that it may reference the role of "the bagman" who may have to back off recruiting/coaching for awhile.

That would be scary to go somewhere that you know will be facing penalties from the NCAA, but it did not hurt USC's recruiting, it may be kiffin & spurrier thing. Those too are cut from the same cloth it seems.

Clowney's decision should be simple, but if not the Tide at least he knows Clemson will have him drafted high and Dabo is an Alabama Man.

Roll Tide
