Three local basketball players ranked among top 100 in the nation

Charlotte Christian’s Anthony Gill is ranked No. 46 in the nation among rising seniors by Phenom Hoop Report analyst Rick Lewis.

North Meck’s Bernard Sullivan ranks No. 80.

Former Vance star Marquis Rankin, who has transferred to Hargrave (Va.) Military, is No. 95.
Gill, a 6-foot-8 center, has committed to South Carolina. Sullivan is uncommitted. Rankin has committed to Virginia Tech.

Other in-state players ranked include: Quincy Miller, Quality Education (4th); P.J. Hairston, Hargrave Military (Greensboro native, No. 27); Dezmine Wells, Raleigh Word of God (38); Marshall Plumlee, Arden Christ School (39); Deuce Bello, Westchester Academy (58); Bishop Daniels, Raleigh Word of God (91); Joseph Uchebo, Raleigh Word of God (92).

Bernard Sullivan doesn't go to North Meck anymore - he's transferred to a school in Davidson. Maybe he can scrape up enough money now to pay off the band fees that he's owed since freshman year.

Miller is now enrolled at Westcheter, where he'll play with Bello and fellow D-I recruit Ike Nwamu.
