Charlotte Latin tops national soccer poll

Charlotte Latin capped its state championship season with a first-place finish atop the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

Latin (20-0) was one of three Carolinas schools in the top 12, along with No.2 Wando, S.C., (26-0-1) and No.12 Marvin Ridge (24-0).

North Carolina, along with Pennsylvania and Illinois, led all states with two teams in the top 12.
