Former 49ers star Byron Dinkins hired as basketball coach at Northside

Northside Christian has hired new boys basketball and football coaches.

Former East Mecklenburg and Charlotte 49ers star Byron Dinkins is the new boys basketball coach.

Dinkins played for the Houston Rockets during the 1989-90 NBA season and for the San Antonio Spurs and Indiana Pacers during the 1990-91 season. He also played professionally overseas.
Last season, he was an assistant boys basketball coach at High Point Wesleyan.

Former Waddell coach Quentin Hines is the new football coach at Northside. He coached at Waddell the past two seasons. He and his wife Shirley attend Forest Hill Church, which is pastored by former North Carolina basketball player David Chadwick.

“I am very excited to be part of the family at Northside,” Hines said. “I have had the opportunity to meet the kids, and they are ready to build upon the success they experienced last year. It has always been a dream of mine to work in a christian academy. I love having the opportunity to help kids grow in their faith.”

What happen to the former Panther Brenston Buckner? I heard he was doing a good job at Northside and now they get a new coach? Why did the brother have to be let go?

Buckner resigned, he wasn't fired

supposedly Brenston enjoyed the locker room more than anything else, word on the street is that he took videos of some kids showering with his phone, he also was stealing paper towels and toilet paper from the janatorial closet, hate to see him go because i made up these comments

So what happened to the basketball coach that was there? Word on the street and in AAU circles was that they were an up and coming program with alot of potential there and players coming to the program.

I alwasys say this, the best coach is a person who know how is play the game, I don't want to say that many coachs are useless, it's only that the experience count more than knowledge.
