Defending baseball champ Charlotte Christian upset in NCISAA playoffs

Reigning N.C. Independent Schools 3A baseball champion Charlotte Christian was upset in the semifinals Friday.

No. 4 seed Forsyth Country Day beat the Knights 6-3 to advance to the championship round.

Christian (23-9) had won seven of the past eight state titles.

Forsyth (19-8) will play either Charlotte Country Day (18-7) or Wesleyan Christian (15-7) in the championship round.

Game one is scheduled to begin tonight at 7. Game 2 of the best-of-3 is Saturday at 1 p.m.
