East Meck's Greg Hill takes over at Ashbrook

East Mecklenburg football coach Greg Hill is leaving to take over the program at Gastonia Ashbrook.

Hill, 44, coached the Eagles for five seasons, developing a reputation as one of the area's best defensive coaches.

Eagles athletics director Ec Little said the school would start taking applications for a new coach at a future date. He said the school hoped to name a coach as soon as possible.

"The sooner the better, but I can't a put a timetable on it now with everything going on in CMS."

The district is facing serious cost-cutting issues currently.

Another great coach lost due to bad treatment by CMS. Suspending him for watching film on Sunday...please.

CMS or Can't Manage Squat loses another hard working coach who genuinely cares about kids because of Vicki Hamilton and her chronies in the front office. Super congrats to Coach Hill he deserves better than what Charlotte has to offer
