Ardrey Kell's Jack Klecker nearly breaks 30-year-old county record in track

This past weekend at the Apex Relays, Ardrey Kell's Jack Klecker finished second in the 1,600 meters in 4 minutes, 14.54 seconds to run the fourth fastest time in Mecklenburg County history.

I ran against Dowdle. He was 6 foot 2 but had a stride of a 7 footer. Had sprinters speed and he ran his best times as a junior. Many thought he might break 4 the next year. He lost by a few tenths in a thrilling state meet race in which he led until the last 5 yards.
