West Charlotte advances to first N.C. 4A regional since 2005

West Charlotte grabbed a 22-point halftime lead at Watauga and won its sectional final 93-78 Friday in Boone.

The Lions (21-9) advanced to next week's N.C. 4A Western regional, or state quarterfinal, Wednesday in Greensboro. The Lions haven't been this deep in the playoffs since 2005.

Everybody should be rooting against WC. Why? Any team that has it's best two players transfer to it just before the season is not a developed team, it is a created team. What goes around comes around. The WC football players will be scattering very soon. Who wants to play for a different coach every year? Indy and Butler will gain big time.
