CHAPEL HILL -- North Carolina High School Athletic Association state championships in two classifications of indoor track will be decided on Saturday.
The 1A/2A/3A meet will get underway at 9 a.m. Saturday morning with field events and running finals, and then the 4-A is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Southeast Raleigh has been an indoor track force in both men's and women's competition in the 4A classification, winning the last three of the last four women's crowns and two of the last three men's championships. Winston-Salem Mount Tabor won the '09 women's title while Southeast Raleigh was taking the men's crown.
Burlington Cummings has captured all three of the 1A/2A/3A women’s state titles while Southwest Guilford was the 2009 champ on the men’s side, although Southwest has moved up to 4A in the new realignment period.
