Christian to host baseball camp for charity

Nine-time state championship baseball coach Greg Simmons and former North Carolina player Reid Fronk are hosting a one-day camp at Charlotte Christian for kids 7-14 on Feb. 20.

The camp will be run by Simmons, Fronk and several former and current college players. Proceeds from the $75 cap will go to Sports That Serve, a non-profit that seeks to raise funds to fight worldwide poverty. To sign up, visit, click on upcoming events in the baseball section.

Several current and former NFL players are putting one a one-day clinic for boys in the fifth to 12th grade. The camp, which will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the indoor Carolinas Baseball Clinic in Charlotte, costs $40. Proceeds will to go to provide relief efforts in Haiti.
