I'M glad they kept the name W.A. Hough High School. The only problem is the Huskies mascot. It belongs to our neighbors to the west. Gaston County's Hunter Huss High School, has been the Huskies since 1962! This school is named in honor of Mr. Hunter Huss. He had been Superintendent of Gaston County Schools for 39 years. The names sound so much alike----HUSS HUSKIES & HOUGH HUSKPES. The powers that be could have picked a unique mascot for W.A. Hough High School! At least the colors are great!

The new Rocky River High School in Mint Hill, has a mascot and colors. They'll be the ROCKY RIVER HIGH SCHOOL RAVENS. School colors will be orange/brown/&white!

Hopefully the football coach they pick will be less controversial than the ad they picked. principal Cockerman, don't pick someone who has been suspended!
