Butler jumps to No. 2 in national poll

Butler High's football team, which won the N.C. 4AA championship Saturday, rose from fifth to second in the National Prep Football poll.

The Bulldogs (15-0) set a school record for wins this season and beat Fayetteville Britt 48-17 to win its first state championship. The school opened in 1997.

S.C. Big 16 champ Roebuck Dorman is No. 8.

Butler is No. 6 in the MaxPreps national poll, No. 6 by ESPN and No. 14 in Rivals.

What rock are the voters under regarding national rankings. I have watched Butler football for well over ten years and while I admire and applaud their undefeated season this year, they would have a very difficult time competing with a number of teams from the los angeles area, including crenshaw, mission viejo, long beach poly, edison, service, mater dae, St. Bonaventure. Any one of these teams would run the bulldogs right out of the stadium.
