Marvin Ridge moves soccer to Monroe, football questionable

Marvin Ridge's football field is soaked with water, athletics director Tony Guylitto said.

The water went six lanes deep on the school's track. Guylitto said he's concerned with playing football Friday.

"If it doesn't stop raining, it won't be safe to put kids on it Friday," Guylitto said.

Monroe High has a artificial turf field and Guylitto is moving tonight's soccer game to Monroe at 8. Marvin Ridge plays Concord there

That game will follow Monroe vs. Bishop McGuinness in the 1A playoffs third round. That starts at 6:30 p.m.

Friday night, Marvin Ridge is scheduled to host Anson Senior in a first round playoff game. Guylitto said that game might have to be moved to Saturday.

NOTE: Marvin Ridge has moved soccer to Saturday at 1 p.m. against Monroe at Marvin Ridge.
