Friday's game recaps

Connor Gonet scored on a 12-yard reception from Quinn Billerman and a 26-yard run as Raleigh Ravenscroft beat visiting Providence Day in an N.C. Independent Schools Atheltic Association Division II playoff Friday.
Providence Day, which finished 3-8, scored on Josh Covington’s 9-yard run in the first quarter. Ravenscroft improved to 8-4.

HICKORY RIDGE 28, CONCORD ROBINSON 26 - Brian Baltimore ran for 354 yards and three touchdowns in a South Piedmont 3A victory.
Baltimore’s scoring runs of 13, 90 and 16 yards were in the first half as Hickory Ridge (6-5, 5-2 conference) built a 28-14 halftime lead. Concord Robinson (5-6, 4-3) rallied with two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but a potential two-point conversion pass failed.

HARDING 28, GARINGER 26 (OT) – The Rams (4-7) squeaked out a MEGA 7 3A/4A victory in overtime to improve to 3-4 in conference. Garinger (2-9, 2-4) lost its third straight game.

UNIONVILLE PIEDMONT 23, BERRY 17 – The Cardinals (7-4) lost their second straight Rocky River 1A/2A game, and are 5-3 in conference.

CHARLOTTE COUNTRY DAY 58, VICTORY CHRISTIAN 12 – The Bucs coasted to a NCISAA Division I playoff victory. Country Day (10-1) won 59-6 in the regular season, and will advance to play at rival Charlotte Latin next week. Victory Christian finished 1-9.

MARVIN RIDGE 21, WEDDINGTON 17 – Marvin Ridge scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns – runs by Kolly Ogar and Dylan Williams – to rally for a Southern Carolinas 3A/4A victory. Marvin Ridge is 9-2, 3-2.
Dominique Ardrey returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown for Weddington (5-6, 2-3).

ROCK HILL NORTHWESTERN 30, GAFFNEY 23 – The Trojans won the S.C. Region 3 4A title as Justin Worley was 34-of-43 passing for 345 yards and two touchdowns, and Robert Joseph caught 22 passes for 232 yards and two scores.

CONCORD FIRST ASSEMBLY 55, ASHEVILLE SCHOOL 13: Kyle Grisby ran for 101 yards and three touchdowns and caught two touchdown passes from David Larson as the Eagles coasted to an NCISAA Division II playoff victory. First Assembly (11-0) led 37-0 at half, and had two touchdown runs by Brandon Stegall and one by Tony Moore. Asheville School finished 7-3.

EAST GASTON 51, WADDELL 6: The Warriors, hampered by East Gaston’s 24-point second quarter, lost their 10th straight. Waddell (1-10) fell to 0-6 in MEGA 7 3A/4A, but had a first-quarter touchdown pass from Donterius Dawkins to Jerian Hardy.
East Gaston (6-5, 4-2) clinched the conference’s top 4A playoff berth.

HARRELLS CHRISTIAN 48, NORTHSIDE CHRISTIAN 8: The Knights’ season ended in a lopsided road loss in a NCISAA Division II playoff. Northside Christian (4-7) scored in the first quarter on Chris Macon’s 8-yard run, and Bobby Seigworth’s two-point conversion catch from Macon. Harrells Christian (9-2) led 25-8 at halftime.

LAKE NORMAN 12, MOORESVILLE 10 – Lake Norman’s victory in an I-Meck 4A game gave Mooresville a winless season (0-11). The Wildcats improved to 8-3, 3-3.

EAST LINCOLN 56, NORTH LINCOLN 7: Austin Culp rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries and Preston Perry had two touchdown passes, helping East Lincoln take a 35-0 lead after one quarter.

WESTMINSTER CATAWBA 37, HICKORY GROVE 0: Brodrique Moore ran for two touchdowns and 117 yards, and Brad Adams had 108 receiving yards as the Indians (8-3) romped in a NCISAA Division II playoff. Westminster’s Ian Brandt and Peyton Hinson had 11 tackles apiece.
Hickory Grove finished 6-5.

ALBEMARLE 49, SOUTH STANLY 6: The Bulldogs (11-0) capped a perfect regular season as Rusty Parks and A.J. Little ran for two touchdowns apiece.
Parks ran for 128 yards, and Albemarle rolled to a 35-0 halftime lead.

LENOIR HIBRITEN 48, ALEXANDER CENTRAL 7: Leo Guevara and Kaylen Pearson ran for two touchdowns apiece as Lenoir Hibriten (11-0, 6-0) won the Northwestern 3A/4A championship. The loss ended a 10-game winning streak by Alexander Central (10-1, 5-1).
