Independence cuts Butler's lead to 31-17 on Kierre Brown's 74-yard touchdown catch from Anthony Carrothers in the third quarter.

Butler's Christian LeMay threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to tight end Tony Yorio. The Bulldogs are dominating rival Independence 31-10 in the third quarter.

Providence's Chauncey Concepcion has 178 passing yards at halftime. He had 0 in the first quarter, and 178 in the second..Brandon Braxton has three catches for 130 yards.

Ardrey Kell's Justus Pickett is just-good....He's got a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and has rushed for 83 yards and a score, all in the first half against Providence.

Olympic 42 points in the first half. Ouch...It's been a long season for West Meck.

East Meck is rolling South Meck; leads 24-0 at half...East Meck has 254 yards rushing, led by Ronald Howard with 128 yards on 13 carries. Olen Little has two touchdown passes.

Butler has three interceptions in the first half.

Butler upped its lead against Independence to 17-7 on Vaughn Bandy's 34-yard field goal.

Kannapolis Brown and Concord - the longest continuous rivalry in North Carolina - is tied at 7 after one quarter. Concord quarterback B.J. Beecher, a freshman, is 6-of-9 passing for 114 yards and a touchdown.

Butler's Jahwan Edwards ran for touchdowns on two straight possesions. Butler leads 14-7 against Independence.

Butler loses a fumble at the Independence 1...Anthony Carrothers then throws an 81-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Gregg to give Independence a 7-0 lead.

Providence's Damon Magazu threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Braxton Deaver, and Ardrey Kell's Justus Pickett has 55 rushing yards and a touchdown. Tied 7-7 after one quarter.

East Meck took a 7-0 lead against South Meck on Olen Little's 18-yard scoring pass to Elgin Counts.

Why does the Observer not track the stats for Concord High School?

For this last NFL season I was almost sure that The Saints were going to be at the finals again, I guess maybe next year.
