Butler-East Meck quarterfinal to be played at Butler

Friday's N.C. 4AA quarterfinal between unbeaten Butler and Southwestern 4A conference rival East Mecklenburg will be played at Butler, athletics director Jim Boone said.

Butler's stadium seats less than the 4,000 minimum required by the N.C. High School Athletic Association to host playoff games. Boone said he got special permission from the NCHSAA to play the game on campus.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $7.

Butler get special treatment. That's an understatement. Butler gets everything they want. I guess with Joel Ritchie the former principal they are use to their way or no way. They can recuit Girls Basketball players with not even a slap on the wrist not to mention all the LYING kids/parents there that get away with bogus addresses so their little darlings won't have to face the real world.
One day it will catch up to them.
Can't wait to see it.

Someone seems to have their panties in a wad. Get the facts straight. Independence is the special school with the special FB program that got away with numerous students living outside the boundaries, yet played FB. Deal with it, NOT Joel's Richie's decision for the NC High School Athletic Association. Where would you suggest they play then, smartie??

Butler's entire starting girls five last year started at a differnt high school. Independence special treatment? All 150 players had their door knocked on, not to mention a 6 month investigation. Indy's boosters raised 8k last year, Butler's 100k. Lastly, there are three Butler grads, now in college, who lived in Garinger's district. Common knowledge.

Ok I agree. Indy does get special treatment. $90k spent by CMS on Indy to investigate the FB program with no illegal players found. Known fact that the Bulldog Softball team won championships with illegal players but nothing has been said or done about that since those have since gone to college. Take a look at the CMS website and look under athletics and see who has had an illegal player on the FB team this year. BUTLER but haven't heard anything in the media about that one (wonder way) The game should be played at Providence since that is what CMS has said would happen after the first two playoff games were at Butler with SPECIAL PERMISSION. Looks like the NCHSAA is trying to help Butler win the championship they so want but can't seem to get. Maybe next year when some will play for TK their dreams will come true. GO EAGLES

Whomever this idiot is, he/she must not know the facts. Starting five all stated at different high schools? Had you ever even seen the girl's team at Butler play before? Apparently not, because if you did, you'd know that a few of them had played AT BUTLER and STARTED the year before that. Stop being a hater, and get the facts right!

Word is out that Newsome is telling parents to sell their homes and move into Butler's district as they lose a bunch of their territory.

Richmond comes to town? Indy will take care of them.

all of you need to calm down no ones getting special treatment here, they are letting them play at butler because it would be dumb to move a game that butlers stadium would seat plently for im sure when they win they will move the game to providence or somewhere like that
