UPDATES:

Providence showed a new wrinkle by running effectively. The Panthers had 227 yards on the ground, including 102 by Chris Williams (he also had a touchdown)


Myers Park's Jonathan Weymann passed for 246 yards and four touchdowns to help beat East Meck 34-24...Banks Jenkins caught three touchdowns and had 160 receiving yards....East Meck's Olen Little threw for 346 yards and two scores.


Shocker: Gastonia Forestview scored 10 points in the final two minutes to beat Boiling Springs Crest 17-14.

Can't cover him ! Myers Park's Banks Jenkins caught his third touchdown, and has 160 receiving yards as the Mustangs take a 34-24 lead against East Meck.

East Meck's Olen Little - late in the third quarter - has 305 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Myers Park's Casey Caronis - he's a soccer star pressed into duty as a football kicker - drilled a 45-yard field goal to give the Mustangs a 27-17 lead against East Meck....Caronis earlier had a 51-yarder.

Halftime stats - Independence quarterback Jari McCoy-Williams is 8-of-9 passing for 122 yards and a touchdown, and has rushed seven times for 90 yards...He's a sophomore.

Halftime stats - Concord's Sean Willix has thrown for 147 yards and two touchdowns. ... Robinson's Antonio Francis has 14 rushes for 101 yards, and two receptions for 68 yards and a score.

Myers Park's Banks Jenkins has four receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns.


Myers Park's Casey Caronis kicked a 51-yard field goal to tie the game at 17 against East Mecklenburg.

The footballs are flying, with 511 yards offense in the first half of East Meck-Myers Park...East Meck's Olen Little has thrown for 259 yards and a touchdown...Myers Park's Jonathan Weymann has 163 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Concord's Sean Willix has thrown for two touchdowns and 114 yards - all to J.D. Misenheimer, as the Spiders tied Robinson 14-14.

Charlotte Latin's Michael Massardo returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. Hawks lead 14-7 against Charlotte Christian.

Myers Park's Jonathan Weymann has two touchdown passes, including an 88-yarder to Banks Jenkins, and the Mustangs lead East Meck 14-7.

Independence, playing without starting quarterback Anthony Carrothers, leads Ardrey Kell 14-0 in the first quarter....Kierre Brown scored on an 83-yard punt return, and Kyle Greg scored on a 10-yard run.

There's no way that Christian score is right. According to the Christian coach, Jireh Prep is the best team in Charlotte and by far the toughest team they'd play all year. And that's only because they were all men in their fifth year of high school. Latin has already scored 4x the points Jired did. I refuse to believe this.

it is time for Latin to stop their trash talk and show some class

it is time for those who want to say nasty things about
Christian to stop and grow up
