Charlotte Catholic, Myers Park coast to playoff wins

Myers Park's girls' tennis team extended its winning streak to 34 with a 5-1 victory against Mooresville in the second round of the N.C. 4A playoffs Wednesday.

The Mustangs won five of the six singles matches, and the three doubles matches weren't played because the overall match had been decided.

Myers Park (16-0) will host Skyland Roberson (18-0) on Tuesday in the next round.

Charlotte Catholic swept Concord 6-0 in the third round of the N.C. 3A playoffs Wednesday.

Catholic (18-4) ended a 15-game winning streak by Concord (15-1).

Doubles matches weren't played because the overall match had been decided.
