NPR radio to tackle high school football

NPR News plans a season-long series about the phenomenon of high school football.

"Friday Night Lives" will air every Friday on the syndicated network's "All Things Considered" two-hour afternoon show. NPR is broadcast on more than 660 member stations nationwide. The network reaches more than 13 million listeners weekly.

NPR sports correspondents Tom Goldman and Mike Pesca are traveling around the country to tell the stories of the participants and their schools as well as talk about some of the issues that face the sport, including pressures put on young players and coaches earning more than prinicpals.
