Hopewell's Curry to play in California All-Star game

Hopewell's Brandyn Curry, a two-time ME-CA 7 4A basketball player of the year, is in Ontario, Calif, readying to play in the Academic All-American classic. The nation's top basketball players who have also excelled in the classroom were selected for the inaugural event.

Curry, a 6-foot-1 guard, carries a 4.4 gpa and will attend Harvard next year.

Also invited to play in the game are Raleigh Ravenscroft's Ryan Kelly, a McDonald's All-American who has signed with Duke.

The game will be played Saturday night at 6 p.m. pacific time at the $130 million Citizen's Business Bank Area, a 10,700 venue about 50 miles east of Los Angeles.
