Butler's Cierra Burdick will play for her country this summer. A 6-foot-3 sophomore wing considered one of the top three players in her class nationally, Burdick was named to the 12-person USA Basketball Women's U16 National Team. Thirty four players nationwide were invited for three days of tryouts. Coached by Wingate's Barbara Nelson, Team USA will play in the 2009 FIBA Americans U16 Championship for women, at a site and date to be announced. Burdick was the only N.C. player to make the team. She goes to Butler and not South Meck...
If you think the Wingate coach has hopes of signing Burdick you are greatly mistaken. This wonderful young lady will be able to pick ANY school in the country to attend.
No need to try and create your own scandal.
