Wednesday night's top performers

BOYS' TENNIS

-- Lake Norman swept Northwest Cabarrus 9-0 to win the North Piedmont 3A championship.
The Wildcats (15-0) are 9-0 in conference, and won for the second straight year. Andrew McKinnon, Trey McKee, Timmy Johnson, Matt Dowell, and Matt Crisp are undefeated in singles play, while Drew Harmon finished 8-1.
Lake Norman a first-round 3A playoff on May 5.

-- West Mecklenburg won its first match, 7-2 against Waddell, which ended a nine-game losing streak. Micah Blanding, Jamique Enoch, Charlie Lee and Nick Shriner won singles matches for the Hawks.

SOFTBALL

-- Lincoln Charter's Katie Cronin pitched a perfect game in a 17-0, three-inning victory against Clearview Christian. She struck out five.

BASEBALL

-- East Burke's Donnie Hughes threw a no-hitter in an 11-0 victory against Draughn. Corey Rhoney hit two home runs and drove in six runs.

GIRLS' SOCCER

-- Hopewell's Brooke Arey scored three goals in a 7-0 victory against Berry. Nicole Gurley had a goal and two assists. The Titans improved to 7-2-3.
