Thursday's top performers (and a few from Wed.)

SOFTBALL
-- Annie Pearson, a 7th-grader at Covenant Day, pitched a no-hitter in a 16-0 victory against Victory Christian. Covenant Day scored nine runs in the first inning.
Madeline Tackeberry, Jillian Donahoe, Anna Barcley, Emma Biggerstaff and Pearson had two RBIs apiece.

-- West Charlotte's Latesha Davis was 4-for-4, with two home runs, a triple, double and nine RBIs in a 17-2 victory against Berry.

-- Charlotte Latin clinched the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association title with a 9-2 victory against Concord Cannon. The Hawks (16-3, 7-0 conference) banged out 15 hits, including two each by Myers McGarry and Katie Sheild.

BASEBALL
-- David Johnson was 2-for-2, including a triple, and scored three runs in Garinger's 8-3 victory against Berry. Winning pitcher Garrett Moore threw a complete game, and held Berry scoreless the first six innings. Garinger's Joshua Heidel had two RBIs.

-- Charlotte Catholic's Danny Vliet pitched his second straight shutout - 4-0 against West Mecklenburg - to improve to 4-2. Vliet, a senior, pitched a four-hitter.

-- Sun Valley's Chris Timberlake, a sophomore, was 4-for-4 with three doubles in an 8-6 victory against Porter Ridge.

GIRLS' SOCCER

-- Gaston Day's Lulu Brase and Erin Meyer-Cuno scored two goals apiece in a 5-0 victory against Davidson Day in the SPAA conference semifinal.
