Lacrosse city final tonight

Providence and Charlotte Country Day, the top two seeds, will play in the Charlotte Lacrosse City Championship at 7 p.m. at Ardrey Kell.

Top seed Providence edged Charlotte Catholic 20-19 in overtime in the semifinal on Saturday. The Panthers offense was led by Braxton Deaver and Konner Scroggins (five goals apiece) and Tucker Hull (four goals, three assists). Goalkeeper Pete Wesselman made 29 saves.

Country Day's balanced attack beat Providence Day 12-5 in the other semifinal. Hedley Jennings (three goals, assist), Kip Haddock (two goals, assists) and Conor O'Neill (goal, two assists) were offensive stars, and keeper William Anderson made 12 saves.
