Lake Norman wins tennis tournament

Lake Norman High won the Huntington Learning Center Invitational tennis tournament for the second straight year Saturday.

The Wildcats defeated host Hopewell 8-1, after winning its first-round match 8-1 against Winston-Salem Mt. Tabor on Friday.

Lake Norman swept all six singles matches in the final, each in straight sets.

Mt. Tabor beat Mallard Creek 5-4 in the third-place match.
