Hopewell, Vance 1-2 in N.C. State basketball polls

On the eve of their meeting at Vance High Tuesday night, Hopewell and Vance have moved up into the top two spots in the N.C. Preps state media poll.

Hopewell (21-0) is atop the poll, followed by Vance (20-1). Hopewell beat Vance at home earlier this season and hopes to end Vance's 30-game home win streak. That would deliver an outright ME-CA 7 title. Hopewell shared it with North Mecklenburg last season.

If Vance wins tonight, it could grab at least a share of the title by winning at West Charlotte Thursday. Hopewell plays at rival North Meck Thursday.
