Dad's new job costs Providence a swimmer

The Indianapolis Colts’ gain was the Providence High swimming team’s loss.

The Colts promoted Frank Reich (former Panthers quarterback) to quarterbacks coach last week. His family lives in Charlotte, where daughter Aviry was a standout member of Providence’s swim team.

Reich had worked in Indianapolis all season as an offensive assistant, but the family remained in Charlotte. At the Christmas break, they all moved to Indiana.

“I wish she could have stayed through the swimming season,” Providence coach Sandy Martin said. “But I understand. “If our girls want to do it, we’ll need others to step up in Aviry’s place.”
