Former Garinger/PD star Goode shines in college

Former Garinger and Providence Day star Jeremy Goode, the Observer's player of the year in 2006, is having a solid career at NCAA Division I Mount Saint Mary's (MD).

Goode is the team's second leading scorer (14.3 points per game) and also averages a team-high six assists. He scored a game-high 23 points in the Northeast Conference semifinals Sunday to move Mount Saint Mary's within one win of its first league tournament title since 1999.

Goode, a sophomore point guard, will lead Mount Saint Mary's into tonight's 7 p.m. conference championship game with Sacred Heart. The game will be televised on ESPN2. The winner gets a berth in next week's NCAA Tournament.
