Video: Exciting end to Butler-Indy JV Game Thursday

Thursday night, a huge crowd nearly filled Butler's field to capacity to see the Bulldogs junior varsity play Independence, which hadn't lost in five years.

Butler scored with less than 10 seconds to play, and then went for two points on the extra point and converted to get a 15-14 lead. Here's video of the final play. An Independence receiver goes up for the ball and a game winning catch at the end. Looks exciting.

It was like a movie. You couldn't have asked for a better script. That was H.S. Football at its best. Both teams played well, but our Bulldogs prevailed! Congratulations to all the coaches, staff, player's and to their famlies! Way to go Butler Bulldogs! 10-0!

Good thing Butler finnally beats Independence. Maybe it has something to do with the head coach who could finnally get the W. Notice it wasnt Newsome.

What a team effort by the Dawgs! Tremendous effort by both offense and defense. Great coaching. Butler played with intensity and came away with the prize! Congrats conference champs!!

This is the biggest win in Butler's history...? A JV win! LOL That is hysterical...!

Give me a break... Too bad your Varsity team isnt as good. There will not be a Varsity SW 4A Championship for you guys yet again this year.

Oh yea, somebody needs to ban that parent from the game as well. Interupting the post-game Lord's Prayer is downright dispicable. Have some class! Classless Butler parents... Oh, and good job Matthews Police, way to be on point with providing security for the opposing team.

Too bad your highlight film will be of the JV squad since youre going to end the year with 4 losses. WC, East, The Big I and then probably some nobody during the playoffs in the 1st or 2nd rd.

We are gonna beat that arse tonight. Then you can gloat some more over your JV win, LOL!

Go Big I!

It was an Independence parent that interrupted, still feel strongly about Butler being classes? The security was actually handled rather well, no incidents. And who said this was the biggest win in butler's history? In case you didn't notice which I'm guessing you didn't, Independence takes their JV games very seriously, I believe they are the only team with coaches calling plays on a headset in the booth. The only thing anyone can take seriously of what you said is your last sentence.

Wasn't this just a JV game? I don't pull for either one of these teams, but if you are from Butler and are truly excited about this...then you are pretty sad. They celebrated like they won the Super Bowl and the music on the video was "We are the Champions". How about get a life. The celebration was pretty funny though. It is always good to teach a bunch of 9th and 10th graders to stomp around on the field.

As an outsider, do you not think that Independence could have converted a 2-point conversion on one of their touchdowns? Basically they were celebrating a glorified tie in a JV game....definitely good for a laugh.

oh and i would like to say something else to the indy fans who are bad mouthing butler..guess what butler beat you guys and you know what it wasnt because a couch wasnt there..they couch made the decision to handle the fan in his way so he choose to not be a part of the biggest game of the season.. so please indy fans if u have anyother negative comments about butler check out the score boards on both jv and varsity...
