Readers Sweet 16 Poll No. 2

The second Charlotte Observer Sweet 16 readers poll featured one first-place vote for Charlotte Latin, whereas the entire Observer staff and four other readers voted Independence first.

Beyond that, the readers poll is still not vastly different than the writers. Both polls have the same top five teams and pretty much reorder a few other teams.

Charlotte Catholic, however, was No. 7 in the writer's poll and No. 12 in the reader's version.

Who's doing a better job? Let us know.

I'm just glad that you can read the list now without watching that God awful video.

How can half the teams be higher. They lost when they shouldn't have. Kannapolis beat Sun Valley and look where they are at. W. Iredell beat W. Rowan ect... Catholic shouldn't be there at all with 2 L's period. I don't care who they played, they lost just like K-town and West Rowan. Difference is they haven't lost twice.

north gaston is higher than catholic because catholic has 2 losses and barely beat north gaston, catholic shouldn't even be in the sweet 16, the only reason they are is because of the school's tradition.

What do you mean barley beat North Gaston, Catholic was supposed to be destroyed by them. Plus if most teams had to play the same non confrence schedule Catholic did, most teams would have 3 to 4 L's (South 4-2, CCDS 6-0, Latin 6-0, North G. 5-1)

I am glad I can read the poll instead of watching the video, as well. I can see why they are writers instead of broadcasters.

how can Mt.Pleasant be 10 we've won EVERY game so far?????????????

Mt. Pleasant should be ranked higher we are 7-0! We not only beat reigning state champs Concord at Concord we also beat Forest Hills @ Mt. Pleasant for the first time in 25 years. After being down 14-10 at the half we came back to win 31-14!

All mecklenburg cares about is independence. all cabarrus cares about is concord and kannapolis. mount can, and probably will, go undefeated and win the state title and all the tribune will talk about and put on tv is how great concord and kannapolis are.

Every year Anson co is under ranked they are one of the best teams in the area. Anson co should be ranked higher than 15. The only loss they have is to Richmond co. What does it take for Anson co to get some love.

mount needs to be ranked higher they beat concord at concord and the rest of the 3 and 4a teams they had to play and hey they are undefeated.is it possible for anyone to give them any respect

i dont see why East Burke isnt in the sweet 16 we have one of the better records in the state and we played a pretty tough non conference schedule not to mention did well with it
